Poor old Weston Super Mare Pier once stood gloriously like this...
& on Monday 28th July it had been reduced to this...
I am so sad. I spent a lot of my teenage years mooching around this grand old pier, playing the gamblers & spending copious amounts of time on the rickity old ghost train. Life was good back then.
They reckon up to £100000 pound coins melted in the fire. No one is really sure what started it but this is the end of an era, at least for me.
Even sadder news, a friend of mine has just been diagnosed with cancer.
Life can be pretty shit sometimes!
