So far...

So it's a New Year & like other suckers I know I decided to make some New Year Resolutions. So far I haven't started any. Doh!

Anyway, New Year Resolutions are:

1. Get fit. When you bend over in your office and a customer shouts 'Whoa, total eclipse of the sun man' you get a bit of a complex. So far, getting fit has consisted of me walking to the chip shop instead of driving and drinking squash instead of coke. Getting fit will be a long hard slog for me.

2. Make more effort. This relates to my appearance in the office. At present, I get up & look in the mirror and cringe, clean my teeth, wash my bits. get dressed (yes, in the light although it does look like I do get dressed in the dark sometimes) & go. I rarely bother with my hair (I should do, hedge dragged backwards comes to mind) or make up (the bags man, the baaaags). I have begun to get up a little earlier to address above points, however at the moment, me getting up earlier has given me more time on a morning to moan about getting up too early.

3. Be nice. So far this year I have been nice. To people I like. People I don't like have been having a rough time courtesy of my tongue. Stop it LMPP. Be nice.

4. Drink less alcohol. This relates to number 1. However, its not happening, it just jumps in my mouth. Oops.

5. Blog more. Ok, this one I will succeed at. I'm crap at blogging and it shows. I am ashamed.

6. Cook more. I looooove cooking! I watch all the shows & read all the blogs but my kitchen is a bit of a ghost town. I can and have proved I can cook fairly well, but my menu is limited:
Casseroles: Sausage, Chicken & Beef
Toad in the Hole
Lasagne
Cottage Pie (once)
Roast dinners
Spag Bol
Lemon Chicken (no one in my household likes it?)
Chicken Biryani
Fried breakfast
Chilli
Random quickie frozen shite

I need to learn more receipes & cook more!

7. Spend less money on crap & more on important stuff. Nuff said!

Ok, that's it, my list of things to achieve this year. Whether or not I succeed is another story. However, I will blog more & update you so at least one of my resolutions will be fufilled!!

It's so damn cold...

In fact, my car iced over whilst driving it this morning with the heaters on. I have to pull over quick & pray there wasn't a parked car in my way.

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year! A bit late I know but then again, better late than never eh?

Yesterday, yes, New Years Day, I got pulled over by a copper for apparently pulling out in front of a car. It didn't matter that the car I 'pulled out in front of' was approx 5 football field lengths away from me, he still pulled me & proceeded to tell me what was wrong with my car...

Him: 'You have no brake lights madam'.
Me: 'Yes I do, I can see them lighting up on your car you're parked so far up my ass!'

Apparently that's a bad thing being cheeky to the police.

Him: 'I'm going to issue you with a vehicle defect form. You have to immediately get your car repaired by a registered MOT Testing Station & get this form stamped & post it to this address on the back. Do I make myself clear Mrs. M?'
Me: 'Duh, it's New Years Day, Pray tell where I'm supposed to get this done on New Years Day??'
Him: 'Not my problem Mrs. Mead'.

The police, very helpful.

In fact, when I went to hand it in at my local police station after dragging my friend away from his family meal to fixed my car & stamp said form, the nice lady behind the counter told me she couldn't accept it & that it had to be posted and gave me an envelope for my trouble.

Thanks, I'm soooo pleased.

I then went to work in the pub, where I'm not in the managements good books, & played gin rummy with the other member of bar staff for most of the night. No customers is an understatement, I must have served no more than 11 people in 6 hours. I do not think we will be getting double time this New Years Day.

Fabulous start to 2009 don't you think?
